Have not used PDN in a while, but from the top of my head I can remember the the viewport is often moved or not automatically updated, so that you need to zom or pan to get back to the objects you are working on. One is sometimes also rotated to the backside of objects when executing commands, witch...

Could this be called "View face from normal", it might work on curved faces as well.
