Re: how to fix cmake parts?

Either all the source files of the missing functions weren't built at all No, they have been built, I have *.o files You should make a description of what you did. E.g where you got the source code from, how you run cmake, ... Ok, the sources are from sf.net and when I start netgen I get this: NETG...

Re: how to fix cmake parts?

Thank you for your support! build now fails. Error message is too long, have to append a file. link_errors.txt I guess, that bunch of errors is beyond my skills. Looks like my netgen-snapshot is not in a usable state. This lib looks new to me. Can I verify, that the symbol is part of that library?

how to fix cmake parts?

Hello, I try to get the combination of netgen and fc up and running . Both packages build, but currently I get runtime errors when I switch to fem-wb in fc about unresolved externals. @midgetfc found out, that the netgen author experimented with cmake instructions and that the experiment was not fin...

Re: need a helping hand to setup fem on debian jessie

Hi, thanks a lot for that hint. I tried to toggle the comment of both statements (add_library and target_link_library) - don't know, whether the result is better. Currently I try to mesh a step-flie with netgen-gui - after 3 hrs surface meshing is at 13% and the last single percent took about an hou...

Re: Why doesn't FreeCAD respond in real time?

Does this only happen for processes invoked with subprocess? Hm, don't know. It's the only place, where I know a processing time big enuf to distinct between before and after At least the class responsible for the writing to the log file is ConsoleObserverFile ... Hm, I don't know nothing about tha...

Re: Why doesn't FreeCAD respond in real time?

It basically depends on how something is printed. ... A completely different story is it when starting a sub-process. Ok, I don't know python - so I have to guess ... When I look at gmsh.FCMacro it contains a "FreeCAD.Console.PrintMessage(...)" I would expect such messages to popup at fc python con...

Re: Why doesn't FreeCAD respond in real time?

... shows you the absolute path to the log file. Now with a tool like "tail" you can read all messages immediately. That's only half of the truth. Many logs arise after the executed command is completed. With netgen and gmsh I used to start fc with the logging enabled, to see what's going on ... Wh...

Re: Integrated Build of External Projects Such as Netgen

Hello, @mauriz nice attempt to create an integrated build. I did somethings similar by shellscripting (as I don't know cmake). Anyway - I don't think, that an integrated build is the biggest need for the described users. I think, I'm one of those. I'd like to have fc build from master, use oce and n...

Re: gmsh fails with abstract error message

Hi Ulrich, thanks a lot! Great hint :) there's quite a lot of usable output! There's no attempt to run external app - at least no error related to that ... ... but I got errors related to my solid - would be nice, to have that errors in fc. @author of gmsh-Macro: Would be nice, if fc started from co...

gmsh fails with abstract error message

Hello, as I was not able to build a running fc/netgen combination, I went back to fc without netgen and gmsh. When I call gmsh-macro for a default cube - it works. When I call gmsh-macro for a more complex solid (compound) it fails with: Running: /usr/bin/gmsh /tmp/tmpfm04Dy.step -3 -format unv -o /...
