Re: need a helping hand to setup fem on debian jessie

Hello, little happy update :) FC builds fine with netgen 6.1 from sf.net repo. Only need to set CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS to -std=c++11 I did it with cmake-gui and CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS was empty before. I changed FindNETGEN.cmake like this: # Try to find nglib/netgen # Once done this will define # # NGLIB_INCLUDE_...

Re: FreeCAD and FHS

libs should be in a sub directory. Why not. Adding a subdirectory is always a good habbit - like using namespace :) I happend to succeed a clean build and got this list of files (install_manifest.txt) /usr/local/bin/FreeCAD /usr/local/bin/FreeCADCmd /usr/local/lib/CompleteGui.so /usr/local/lib/Comp...

Re: need a helping hand to setup fem on debian jessie

Hi Bernd, thank you very much for your reply! FreeCAD latest git from github compiled without netgen Ok, I'll try again without netgen :O I need to read all that stuff here since I do not have netgen inside FreeCAD but I'm interested to have ... Well, to me it looks like netgen uses the most recent ...

Re: FemMesh.addFace()

Hi Bernd, sorry for OT - but it looks like you are running the system, I'd like to achieve (debian stable with fc git-master). Could you please shine me a light, what 3rdparty Software is needed and works together? It looks like I had compiled each part, but they don't work together :O regards Reinh...

Re: need a helping hand to setup fem on debian jessie

Uuh - i was too stupid :( I added the -D NETGEN_V5 to cmakes parameter list. Now I added the definition to the compile-settings and have the same errors as 3 posts before. Guess the preprocessor-token can't help on the errors, as they might be related to inline functions from netgen header files - o...

Re: FreeCAD and FHS

I've always wondered why "make install" installed FreeCAD in a completely different place than when installing from a PPA. That's a habbit by intention/convention. When you install some package from ppa (or repository on pure debian systems), installation target (prefix) is /usr As I already wrote ...

Re: can not import dwg-file

Hello, I did some more tests about placing files of TeighaFileConverter right. Bad luck! Moving the shared libs to /usr/lib and the rest to /opt causes the binary trap with filenotfound error. Obviously the binary checks the existance of the shared libs with the same path of the binary ... :( So I c...

Re: FreeCAD and FHS

The official Debian package for FreeCAD installs its files into /usr/lib/freecad Sure! Same is true for the jessie package Well, I think, placing python scripts, step-files and all other rubbish below /usr/lib is not right, but its up to you :) At the end of this post , you'll find the script I use...

Re: FreeCAD and FHS

When is this directory created? When installing the FreeCAD Debian package? If yes, with which package? Nope. No official debian package will ever install something at /usr/local - that breaks debian rules. On debian systems there are only 2 places for packages allowed (most commonly called prefix)...

Re: need a helping hand to setup fem on debian jessie

adding section from [1] does not help. Looks like there's no pkgconfig information for netgen on my system. So I tried to add the definitions to cmake call - and got back to the errors before external_ivy [ 10%] In file included from /usr/local/src/free-cad-code/src/3rdParty/Pivy-0.5/coin_header_inc...
