Re: need a helping hand to setup fem on debian jessie

Hi, thanks a lot for your support! I'm not cmake specialist, but that doesn't look right: Yep - I found it strange too, but it was not my invention. It was already in there. About the compilaion error did you set FREECAD_USE_EXTERNAL_PIVY? THX - no i hadn't set it. After adding it, build fails a bit...

FreeCAD and FHS

Hello, I ocasionally happened to realize, that FC creates a directory "Mod" at "/usr/local". That's not right, so I'd like to know: is it my fault, that I missed to specify a target location, or why is a directory created at /usr/local level? The right path for python scripts would be "/usr/local/sh...

Re: can not import dwg-file

Finally I got it :) starting FC from console with the -l switch shows the message. ... and following the message path I found out, that FC does everything right! The package provided by ODA is rubbish :( ... at least the debian package. They place the shared libraries in a directory below /usr/bin (...

Re: need a helping hand to setup fem on debian jessie

Hi, so I renamed "netgen-mesher-git" to "netgen-mesher" and changed "FindNETGEN.cmake" ... netgen has a very bad package layout, so you have to work with quirks like FindNETGEN.cmake :( Someone should tell the netgen people, that on linux somewhat like FHS exists and is worth to follow ;) ... anyway...

Re: can not import dwg-file

May be I didn't get the point?

in topic 7865 is stated, that redirecting python output will show up that print messages in fc output window.
That's not true in my case.

As I already wrote: it makes no difference whether python redirection is enabled or disabled.
There's no print message output.

Re: need a helping hand to setup fem on debian jessie

That doesn't look like a normal header location (suffix -git), ... Its not my invention. I cloned the netgen repo from sf http://sourceforge.net/p/netgen-mesher/git/ci/master/tree/ where it names the repo "netgen-mesher-git" ... but renaming the directory is - not an issue ;) Use cmake-gui and type...

Re: can not import dwg-file

Thanks!

so after first look - how can I get the output of the print-statements?
No matter whether I enable python message redirection in fc or not - no print-message shows up :(

Re: need a helping hand to setup fem on debian jessie

Finally - Calculix build :) I found the important hint here: https://gcc.gnu.org/ml/fortran/2007-03/msg00305.html So I edited ARPACK/UTIL/second.f and changed lines: REAL ETIME EXTERNAL ETIME to these lines: * REAL ETIME EXTERNAL REAL ETIME Then rebuild of ARPACK followed by Calculix build ... Can y...

Re: need a helping hand to setup fem on debian jessie

There is a thread [1] about ccx for debian. Yes, already read it. ... and I agree with NormandC, that I don't like changing source code packages that way! ... and I went for git-repo and cmake ... but Calculix is very ugly. Using cmake should relax from the need of hardcoding external dependencies ...

Re: need a helping hand to setup fem on debian jessie

- take a look here [1]. Those changes might work on debian as well Thanks! That was a big pointer! So I noticed, how to change run of cmake ... and I tried this: cmake -D USE_OCC=ON and I realized, that "find_package" uses wrong precedence. It finds the include files of an older oce installation at...
