Re: Typical structural & heat conduction FEM cases

Hi Kuroshivo, we are almost neighboards!!! I live in Argentina also (Tigre, Buenos Aires), and work as independient consultor for CAD and FEA. If you need some models you can look at my own site, 90% of this were preprosseced in Mecway (that at the end of the day do the mesh with Netgen), and solved...

Re: Organize FEM Results

I suppor to have the results in a subfolder where the FreeCAD file is saved. IMHO this folder should take the name of the analysis (so some kind of name policies must forced on that) as inputs and results can be several files, and one can have several analysis (load cases, modal...) on one Freecad f...

Feature request - Separate mesh from BC on the input file

Hi, I'm working on the FEM wb and as there are some feature not implemented yet, I has to edit regularly the input files. As the boundary conditions are written at the end of the file, for big meshes take time to scroll down to the boundary condition definition. Could be a way to separate the input ...

Re: Nastran

Hi!!! A few months ago NASA has release a very very old (from 90s) version. I'm waiting that somebody start to compile on Windows to give a try. BTW, could be a good solver for Freecad, don't you think?

Re: CGX in FreeCAD little code

I'm using the last available from bConverged: CalculiX_2_8_win_003.zip CalculiX for Windows 2.8, build 003 (60,352 kb) Posted 19 May 2015. This build includes CCX 2.8p2 (32 and 64 bit, both multi-thread), CGX 2.6.1, compiled help file, test cases and two CAD translation tools (VDA and ACIS to FBD). ...

Re: CGX in FreeCAD little code

Even comparing CGX/Abaqus is different! I will try to run the same model/mesh/bc/material in Abaqus. I know that Abaqus for postprocesing use some kind of averaging, but I'm not sure if CGX use the same procedure to show the stress. Re: CGX in FreeCAD little code

Thanks PrzemoF!!!! It works very well, now we can postprocess directly in CGX!!!! I have removed the msgbox line before opening the file, as now we are directly opening the CGX it doesn't has sense to show it. You can see the differences in max stress value, and the stress distribution also between ...
