Re: Fastener Nuts and Bolts, Fitting Together

Another forum member did test the screws and nuts against standard metal parts and found, that the nut is to tight. The printed screw did fit well into an industrial nut. So my impression was, that inner surfaces in an 3D-print may printed with more material than necessary. Ulrich Did you try this?...

Re: printing problem

Your model has no thickness.... make the sketches double rings.

Or make solid and apply thickness

Re: Assign a Sketch to a face

OK, after pasting the file, then drag and drop sketch001 onto body. Regarding your second point, "use attachment offset..." - point noted. How do you do it? Attachment offset is in the data tab below the history tree, expand it and change 'Z' offset to suit top of pad. It wasn't clear from your orig...

Re: Assign a Sketch to a face

Hi, You need to make the sketch part of the body.... Drag and drop it into the body, then the pad/pocket will succeed. Your sketches are overconstrained by the way, you should fix this before you proceed. Also you should avoid mapping sketches to faces, this can lead to problems (look up topological...

Re: Why can't I pad this?

A part design body may only contain a single contiguous solid, your's produces ten!

You might consider using a part container with separate bodies within.

Re: Intersecting pockets

The wiki page for subtractive pipe/sweep is here.... https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/PartDesign_SubtractivePipe Essentially, what it does is, use your sketch to move along a path and remove the material it passes through. There is an additive version as well, which you might have used for the shell ...

Re: Ruler measuring XYZ in YZ view

Rather than use the ruler, use the Part WB measure toolbar. I have found this so useful that I created a global toolbar for it so it is available in all Workbenches. Also try to make use of snapping in draftWB.

Re: Center cylinder in object

It makes it a LOT easier to help if you read and follow the posting guidelines as laid out in the link in the big pink box at the top of the page,
In this instance an included file would be of great value.
