Re: Drawing a sketch on a curved surface

By the way, when looking at the files I provided you, if you make everything invisible, then go to the start of the tree and toggle visibility of the first sketch then each feature in turn you can see how the model was built gradually. This will allow you to understand how it all works! Don't forget...

Re: Drawing a sketch on a curved surface

Part design bodies are meant to be single contiguous solids, such as are printed by 3D printers. There is no need to create a separate body for each feature of the object, unless it is to be fabricated separately. So designing a wooden chair for example would require separate bodies for each piece, ...

Re: Drawing a sketch on a curved surface

As a rule when designing in PD workbench it's best to stay there. You could quite easily have used a subtractive feature to create the set screw hole, or a sketch on a datum plane, or a sketch on a std plane with appropriate positioning. This keeps the History tree nice and clean, and provides a sin...

Re: Workflow to draw a compound grind on a knife edge?

You can do it using subtractive sweep in part design.....

Included rather rough example.

Re: Drawing a sketch on a curved surface

One way of doing this is to make the lugs first, another would be to sketch the lugs on a std plane and use attachment offset to position them as required..

See attached.

Hi HaWa, Welcome to the forum, please help us to help you by reading and following the posting guidelines as set out in the link in the ^^BIG PINK BOX^^ above your post. It sounds like you have one more tooth than you require (it's placement does not intersect the main body, thus creating two solids...
