Re: Proposal for GSoC - jnxd

@ickby, in your Reference class you have this method:

Was this a spelling mistake? If yes, was it meant to be asIndentedString or as asIndependentString?

Re: Proposal for GSoC - jnxd

Actually, I have an idea. How about having a start by adding an interesting feature to Part/PartDesign, that is just a little bit related to toponaming? I think it will be more-or-less within the proposal, yet fun! I am pressing that "want to mentor" button  Glad to see you on board! Howev...

1. Have you ever created a feature based on OCC shape from scratch? (either in C++ or in Python).
By python do you mean pythonocc? I haven't used it, but was just wondering if there is any other way of using occ with python.

Re: Proposal for GSoC - jnxd

Hi! I'm in doubt if I want to mentor you or not. Your choice of task is unexpectedly ambitious, and we (me and ickby) think that the odds of failure are just too high. So I'd like to ask a few questions. 1. Have you ever created a feature based on OCC shape from scratch? (either in C++ or in Python...

Re: Proposal for GSoC - jnxd

I think it would be good to discuss a few technical things first, so that you get at least a first impression on the topic and what it is about. Are you on IRC/Gitter in 2hours? We could talk a bit about the technical side of things. It would be terribly late at night but I could make around 20 min...

Re: Proposal for GSoC - jnxd

Hello jnxd, as there is now one week till the end of proposal phase I would recommend to upload your proposal to the GSoC site in status draft for us to review. You can still edit it there as long as you dont set it to final, but this gets the officiel workflow startet and you will see if there are...

Re: Question about Part Feature

Is current PartDesign NEXT Part feature equivalent of a Part or of an Assembly or both? Assembly will most likely consist of Instances of Parts, or Parts themselves. Part will probably be able to contain a (sub)assembly, but I'm not sure... Part is called "Part", but you can use it for anything you...

Re: Polar pattern bugs

Slightly off-topic, but can anyone explain me why there has to be a major difference between when the angle is 359 deg and when it is 360 deg?

Joining the bandwagon. Not really happy with the size of the gear or the size of the f. Hoping someone could help refine it.

Re: I think the icons of freecad need to be redesigned

P.S. As for other geometry changes proposals in the second variation. At the bottom of F you introduced small radius. Maybe a change like that could work on the current F. I guess a small tribute to spline advancements achieved in the FreeCAD 0.17 development cycle. That is if anybody would ask on ...
