Although, thinking about how the whole thing works, am I being optimistic to *expect* that I should be able to change the angles by that much at a time?

Is it just limited to small angle changes at a time, by the nature of the solving approach?

Yes, with a great deal of help from Vectronic - this is on MacOS though. Instructions here:
