Pockets disappear on fusion

Hi all, Appreciate the help you guys give us beginners. I have created a bracket, ("Strut vertical", attached). As you can see it has holes, created by pockets, in the clinch nuts at either end. As I want to import this into another drawing I did a boolean fusion on it, at which point the holes disa...

Re: Sketcher validation

Hi, Appreciate your advice. I tried the "delete constraints to external geometry", doesn't seem to do anything. The sketch stays uneditable, or even disappears altogether, there's still a file but nothing in it. In terms of what I did I noticed the program was behaving strangely. I created a circle,...

Sketcher validation

HI, I was making a sketch in PartDesign and at some point I tried to constrain the centre point of a circle to the horizontal centre line. It seemed to accept this and the constraint was shown on the list but the circle didn't move. I deleted the constraint and put a vertical distance constraint of ...

Re: Dimensions in Drawing WB

It's OK I've just worked it out. Reading the dialogue under the Youtube tutorial helped. You select the dimension(s) you want and the drawing page (e.g. ortho_0_0) you want them to go on then click "Puts the selected objects on the drawing sheet" in the Part WB and it works!!!!!!!!!

Dimensions in Drawing WB

Hi everyone beginner here trying to learn the ropes. I can transpose a 3D view in Part WB to 2D in Drawing WB, but I get stuck on the dimensions. Looking at the video - https://youtu.be/nxNT0KychcY up to time 2:18 on the video I get the same results but after that I get stuck. He seems to group all ...

Re: Boolean fusion for non solid objects?

Thanks really appreciate your help. I can do the 3D to 2D drawing now, but I still get stuck on the dimensions. Up to time 2:18 on the video I get the same results but after that I get stuck. He seems to group all his dimensions into one folder, select it and click, "Put selected items on a drawing ...

Boolean fusion for non solid objects?

A question from a newbie: I have drawn an object in 3D in the Part and Draft WBs. The next step is to use the Drawing WB to get a series of dimensioned 2D drawings on paper for manufacture, but I am really struggling to do this. The Help page on the Drawing WB doesn't make any sense at all to me. I ...

Drawing workbench

Hi, I have drawn an object for machining using the Part, Part Design and Draft WBs. It is saved as a FCStd file. I also need to add some text which I can't seem to do in Draft other than the XY plane. I would now like to print out the front, side, plan, base and orthographic views for machining. Is ...
