Re: Assembly3 preview

The freeze function is helpful to detach part history from assembly. Say you have a part made by PartDesign containing hundreds of historical features. You can add this part into an assembly, right click the assembly item in the tree view and select 'Freeze'. The assembly will copy the part shape w...

That's expected, AFAIK. When you re-open the external dependency file, link would be valid again. You shouldn't close the external file as long as you didn't "Freeze" your linked instance.
Thank you ceremcem... will test it ASAP.
EDIT: Can you please provide some insight how to do the 'Freeze'.

Re: Assembly3 preview

Hi, I got time and a project to again play with/test a bit asm3. The only thing I could not find is: how do I add a part in an external file into the assembly. I tried to dragNdrop a part from an opened file into my current assembly. That worked but the link was lost when closing the second file. Th...

It seems there is a chance to find a practical solution.
Hi TechnikerHF,
It would be nice if you could share your final script and maybe results.
I tried to automate fc for simulations years ago and am still very interested in it.

Yes, there is a trick. I don't know how/where to document this but you need to CTRL + label drag to move the ballon symbol.
Hi Franck,
Thanks a lot.
I tested it with the current pre-0.19-appimage and it works fine.

Re: Help on TechDraw source code

Hi,
I tried to use the balloons for a drawing today.
The thing i struggled most with was the positioning of the end of the arrow/dot. Ist there some trick how to position it by mouse?
I finally used the x/y coordinates in combo-view which is a bit cumbersome.
Thanks in advance,
HoWil

Re: Burst Pressure of a thick-walled Sphere

FYI I remember now, I saw this kind of routine in Freelem software. After installing the soft, for the first run, a stress test routine was testing 126 typical study cases. Then the soft told to the user a result "126/126" tests succed. Something like that. http://www.freelem.com/qualif/index.htm H...

So in this case fcFEM over-predicts theory by 0.045% ... not bad ;)
Is it possible to share your model?
Both uploaded here: https://github.com/HarryvL/fcFEM/tree/m ... eCAD_Files
Thanks.
