[Solved] Fillet geometry error

I think I'm seeing some geometry "improvisation' by the PartDesign fillet tool. I was able to replicate it in a simple model. (Attached.) Has anyone else noticed this? Is this a bug to report or is there another explanation? (All pictures are orthographic). Overview: Object Overview.png Right View B...

Did you check the bug tracker?
Yes; I checked. No; I didn't find it.

Re: FreeCAD 0.18 on OSX does not start if ...

May I reiterate the ask: What's the status of this bug (and what is the bug number)? I'm glad I found this thread. My directory and naming is exactly how Olivier described it. [After some renaming/moving]: OS: macOS 10.14 Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.18.16110 (Git)...

Re: v0.17-0.18 - Error in postprocessor

I didn't know 0.18 was that close. Is there a release candidate? That's a lot faster than 0.17 took. Anyway, I'd still rather use a stable version. There are understandably changes to objects and files that break from build-to-build on the development version. I can't risk having my projects broken ...

Re: v0.17-0.18 - Error in postprocessor

There is a pending Pull Request I ran into this on 0.17; both the April release and the Latest August release. I see that the pull request was for :master. Any chance this fix can be applied to 0.17 branch too? OS: Mac OS X Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.17.13541 (G...

Re: Vertical Feed rates in partially-vertical cuts

It now has the dropdown menu and an input field for a custom rate: @roivai, thanks. I quickly tested (w/ 2-day old build) and found a couple of issues when trying to use it on an existing design: - There was no way to enter the new field in an existing ramp entry. - There was no way to recalculate ...

Re: Vertical Feed rates in partially-vertical cuts

I'm back now; it's been a rough couple of weeks... I am not sure about the objective of your approach. If it is maximizing speed - as OP's issue was all about - or is it kind of smoothness or something else. My attempt was at consistency. Think about the X-Y plane. On that plane, you're cutting with...

Re: Diffing through .fcstd files

It's super easy to make a PR  Thanks. I'm sure it is. I looked up what it takes to sort a an std::map before I posted. They lost me at "functor." I'm not a SW guy; I just dabble. FreeCAD version is out of date, a bug fix release of 0.16 was released I'm guessing that's the "backport" release. ...

Re: Vertical Feed rates in partially-vertical cuts

Helix ramping is now included in the pdf on the first page of this topic . I'm happy to hear you're considering helix as well; I think it's the same in this context when unwrapped as you pointed out. Back to the math. Here is what I had in mind. in terms of finding a feed rate for a ramp: RampFeedP...
