Re: surface smoothness and file size

Since I cannot update now to the last rev and I will be out for a week starting this evening, can you check it for me please?

Here the file again (5,64 MB version).
You can check the other file of the first post to have a double check :)

Re: surface smoothness and file size

Using werner suggestions (tesselation at 0,05%) the visualization looks better and the file size is now 6.590 KB. After that: compression level 5 -> 5.937 KB (-9,9%) compression level 7 -> 5.796 KB (-12,0%) compression level 9 -> 5.779 KB (-12,3%) Here a screenshot and the file , if you want to play...

surface smoothness and file size

I must admit that by now I'm almost a freecad addict and I continue to model parts trying to find some hints to help all you developers.. I was very satisfied about the work for the cylinder part in the image. It's done all in partdesign without any boolean operation. :D By now It is very pleasant t...

Re: Use case

even if you will do your project with SCAD, I made a test on how your parts are easy to model in the standard way..
Dimensions must be checked.

Re: Use case

I see you have a script to generate regular polygons.
It can be added to the sketcher source to have a new command..

Re: Feature parameter

On my machine (winXP) it act as decimal separator when edit a constrain value in sketcher but not when edit a feature value in partdesign (except if the language is set to english).
Can you test if on other OS is like on mine?

Re: Feature parameter

Italians do the same as germans (or do it better like the t-shirts slogan :D ).

Indeed the visualization of the values must be language dependant as it is.
It's just to permit to use the point button on the numpad like sketcher does and any other programs do.

Re: Untraslated strings for stable release 0.12

The easy way IMO is to manage the languages names as a simple string instead of a translatable string.
Like a missed translation.. :D

Feature parameter

When creating a feature (e.g. a pad), the length parameter accepts only 2 decimal digit (not possible to insert for example 10,785). In addition the separator is dependant of the language selected. (point for english, comma for my language). That's correct, but often I insert the values using the nu...

Re: Untraslated strings for stable release 0.12

Also, the language selector in the Preferences dialog still shows languages in English, except for... English, shown as "Anglais"! Look at the changes here: http://free-cad.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/free-cad?view=revision&revision=5166 For any reason the languages have been removed from being tran...
