Re: Opencascade for the masses?

I've had good success getting typo patches submitted via http://www.salome-platform.org/forum/forum_9 It's safe to say that the OCC Devs keep an eye on the forums. But maybe a personal more direct way is more ideal? Thanks. @saso pointed me to Quaor who provided the contact information for the Open...

Opencascade for the masses?

Long story short, the Homebrew macOS package management team will not accept an opencascade formula that does not download the source tarball from the official opencascade site but the opencascade download site requires credentials to download the tarball - not possible in a formula. Does anyone kno...

Re: MacOS: FreeCAD 0.17.12322 Qt5 not starting

That is because that is a new build that worked. I restarted the build right after I saw chrisb's post. Ah, thanks Peter! That indeed explains it. There is an actual problem that has been going on for a long time. I don't fully understand it, but sometimes the bundler script fails to find libjpeg t...

Re: MacOS: FreeCAD 0.17.12322 Qt5 not starting

And here we are again: The size suggests that some libs are missing: FreeCAD_0.17-12636.83f7f85-OSX-x86_64-Qt5.dmg, size 187 MB Maybe something happened with your download for GitHub? 1. The best place to look for a root cause is the Travis job, however all tests passed successfully and Travis uplo...

Re: macOS Qt5 plan and status

FYI, text doesn't scale properly either. Hi! Could you please provide a screenshot? Cheers, Mateusz Sure. We no longer build for Qt4 but the following screenshot is when the app is run in "low-resolution" mode which is identical to Qt4 variant on a hi-dpi display. FC-Low-Rez.jpg And here is Qt5 Hi-...

Re: MacOS: FreeCAD 0.17.12322 Qt5 not starting

But the latest version 12593 doesn't… It's a Python library related error: I can get it running on my MBA, so I'm gonna try to set again. Matplotlib and PySide packages are the ones provides by Kyngchaos for QGIS. M-Rick, I just downloaded 12595 and it worked flawlessly. OS: Mac OS X Word size of O...

It probably should be separated into two issues (#3130 that is). f3nix fixed the 3d viewer issue, but the icon scale problem hasn't been fixed yet.
FYI, text doesn't scale properly either.

Re: Is it possbile to build appimages on a more regular basis

I am fine with both options as the result should be the same. That is to build and deploy development version of FreeCAD in AppImage format on Travis and to do that on daily basis. I see you have setup separate repository just for AppImage purpose. Caching file with time stamp in it step therefore ...

Re: Is it possbile to build appimages on a more regular basis

@triplus, @sgrogan, @saso, @kkremitzki and others - I have had a chance to explore extending @triplus' work to deploy the FreeCAD AppImage on Travis and have come to the following conclusions: Generating and deploying the AppImage in the context of the current Travis CI jobs does not make sense beca...

Re: Is it possbile to build appimages on a more regular basis

Indeed trying to finish the effort sounds sensible thing to do. Especially as now we know AppImage can be created successfully on Travis. Will investigate this further over the weekend. AppImage location, time stamp ... And once that will work we can move to point 3 (AppImage deployment on GitHub)....
