Did you compile FreeCAD? Usually such issues are related to borked build. Deleting everything and starting from scratch could therefore resolve the issue.

Re: Raytracing with OSPRay

Hi José and welcome. Most FreeCAD users settled with POV-Ray. To get some quick results. Or are exporting the geometry and use other software for this purposes. For more, we likely lack a developer or two, investing effort and moving the Raytracing module capabilities further. Therefore if OSPRay su...

versionFunctions: Not supported on OpenGL ES"
This looks like a GPU driver related issue. If you have some other hardware (PC) with a different (modern) GPU available, please test the procedure there first.

Is this a bug to be reported?
When exporting to SVG you need to provide an appropriate geometry:

https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/Draft_SVG#Exporting

Therefore you would need to create a 2D cross section or use a tool like Draft_Shape2DView on the Body first. After export the result.

Re: BIM workbench UI discussion

Well, Ribbon is nice example of bad design. Mostly it is useless GUI, that annoingly holds 1/5 of screen for nothing. Blender's 2.79 UI has got the best realization of ribbon at the moment - they made it vertical and called T panel. It allows to have hundreds well described tools and addons in T pa...

Re: assembly without solver

I don't understand: I tried to provide some simple examples , made from just 4 parts , were they too complex ? Did you try to open them ? Yes, on both accounts. But you're right, I think I have overcomplicated that stuff ... I share the same sentiment. yes, I'm not kidding Fair enough. Will go thro...

Re: Assembly3 preview

wouldn't that defeat the very purpose of linking ? Isn't there already a solution for this : I believed that A2+ does something like that, or may-be I misunderstood. ATM and provided by default FreeCAD only has a little bit of cross document support, when using expressions. Everything else is basic...

If I understand you correctly, you're suggesting create a vertex outside the Sketch and use it as external geometry for the corresponding vertex in the Sketch. Thus, the external vertex acts as a proxy for the internal one to provide a consistent reference, correct?
Yes.
