Re: Merge sketches and other questions

There are two places in the property panel where it appears you can change the z-offset. Only one of them will work in most situations. One place is in the "Base" property heading (does not work here) and the other is in the "Attachment" property heading (works). This can be confusing at times, and ...

Re: How often does FreeCAD crash

I tried every way I could to make this fail, but nothing at all strange happened. Perhaps the mouse model has an impact? I am using Gesture. Re: Make Sketch on Solid Surface

I believe you are looking for "linking to external geometry". If so, use the icon in the Sketcher toolbar.

My screen capture above was related to dimensions. 8-)

Re: Help with Generating Tool Paths for a Specific Model

There are a couple of kludge workarounds I have used in situations like this. First, temporarily add a floor to your model at the level of the top of the posts. Then pocket the entire inside area down to the level of the posts. You may need to create a clone of the original model and make a separate...

Re: Merge sketches and other questions

I usually see this when there are conflicting constraints, in addition to error message at the top of the sketcher task panel.

Re: Merge sketches and other questions

The sketch has an error, hence the unsolved message. Always try to pay attention to the solver messages so when there's an issue you can resolve it before continuing. In the constraints list delete the last constraint (a vertical constraint). Thank you. I see the error message now, but I do not kno...

Re: Let's talk about errors and warnings.

I think that PR misses the point.

There is no error with "CheckGeometry" itself, but there is an error shown in the result from "CheckGeometry".

Do you really want to suppress that error from the majority?

Re: Constraints selection issue in Sketcher

It appears to be some sort of graphics problem.

If I *shrink* the sketch view then I can easily select any constraint, including the "overlapping" ones. If I blow up the sketch to better see the details then some overlapping constraints become unselectable.

Weird. :?

Maybe just simple rule:
There are guaranteed to be user exceptions to every auto-generated rule. It would be good to declare a single required order for manual selection and be done with it.

Does not matter which order for me; I can learn either. :D
