Re: G-Code Creation Help?

Yes, you are correct about the process. FreeCAD is probably not capable of useful G-code for this sort of object, at this time. However, this shape is crying out for simple T&G cutter operations. I would guess that the sharp corners and small steps are important for interlocking the resulting panel...

Re: Rotating out of sketching plane

I don't know what URL I should refer to To load an image you need to click on the "Attachments" tab below the editing window and the click on "Add files". An input window will open in which you can select the file from your computer to be uploaded. Then click "Place inline" to add the file to your ...

The 915 chipset and the i915 driver are completely different beasts.

The graphics hardware discussed in this thread is the on-board HD530, which dates from 2015. I don't know why the driver is still called i915, which would seem to indicate ancient technology The i915 driver is still current.

Re: G-Code Creation Help?

Since you say you are using extruded polystyrene as a material I am guessing that you plan some sort of subtractive routing or milling process. It appears to me that the "Tongue and Groove" shape would be best handled by some sort of traditional shaped cutter similar to the ones used by cabinet make...

Re: Misplaced holes in polar pattern on a revolution

There are quite a few variations of these screw types. Tall, narrow, deep slot, etc. The only thing that is important is the maximum head diameter and the maximum height. The amount of stickout of the head is also a user choice. Not sure anyone will be able to find a set of "standards" that will cov...

Re: Properties window, document best usage from input device

Sorry, I was not trying to be snide or anything of the sort. The serious topic is that recomputes can indeed cause slowdowns. And you have certainly "mentioned" slow actions several times in other threads. (I will retract the term "complain".) You asked for comments, and I suggested an important con...

Re: Sketch too big for sketcher

You did not give any hint at what you want to do with the sketch. If it is only a guide, and not necessarily exact, the easiest thing is to import an image and then trace over it with simple shapes, such as lines and arcs.

If you want further instructions, just ask.

Re: How do I move a sketch in an axis?

I linked to the bug description. There's an example... You apparently didn't read what I wrote. My reading comprehension is fine, thank you. I responded to your "example.fcstd" file. There was no rotation, period. I find it rather amazing that folks like you seem to think it is OK to come on this f...

Does anyone see a problem with that?
I believe I have seen a number of threads in which you complained about slow response times in FreeCAD. This would be another way to create slow response times. :?
