Im really happy FC has been ported to QT5 perhaps gentoo will have it available again, currently using appimage download.

That method has been available since... 2011.

Have you actually installed and used FreeCAD yet?
Used version 17 quite a lot.

I know from Solidworks.. They also need 4-6 Servicepacks until a version is stable and all of our engineers will shout from time to time when it just does act weird. But.. try to get something NEW in Solidworks..or try to change the mind of the creators about some subject or even get help from them...

I heard SolidEdge competes with SolidWorks on these issues. Also, the original group that developed SolidWorks have left Dassault Systèmes and are trying to build an even better (faster productivity) CAD package.
