Re: CAM simulation for the Path Workbench

Hi Shai, About 5 seconds--didn't catch on to that. Beautifully done. So, now I get it, I can look at final output in 5 Seconds or so, but playback if I need to see where something bad happened. That's so cool! Thanks, Josh OS: Windows 10 Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: ...

Re: GCode Error generated in Pocket_3D operation.

Hi Chris, Thanks. I'm confused a bit though. I opened the model I used--as saved before Path-WB Job was added--and marked for ReCompute, and performed, and I see no error messages on any of the objects in the body of the model. The Dependency-Graph shows as fine as well. After dinking around with it...

Re: GCode Error generated in Pocket_3D operation.

Hi Chrisb, Thanks--as always--for your attention, and helpful responses. I reworked a next version model of that job and made sure to check the Dependency Graph as I added to the model. I made sure to before beginning Path that my Dependency Graph was good. I then added Operations to the Job, and at...

Re: CAM simulation for the Path Workbench

Hi Shaise, The Fixture-Operation is under the Path-Partial_Commands, and all it does is specify the coordinate-system. In my case, I am using it to set my job in the G55 coordinate-system. You really knocked this one out of the park! If anyone wants to check it out on a semi-complex job, I saved a c...

Re: CAM simulation for the Path Workbench

Hi Shaise, I just used your simulator for a job I'm about to run. Initially I thought the icon was a placeholder because when I 1st tried to use it nothing happened--turns out because I have Custom-GCode Operations in my list which it doesn't like. It also doesn't like the Fixture-Operataion. Once I...

Re: GCode Error generated in Pocket_3D operation.

Hi Chrisb, I figured for sure it would be something I messed up in the Post-Processor modification, but your suggestion of using the GCode-Inspection for a particular operation suggests its a bug on the Freecad-Path side of things... I had selected 3 Faces for that operation, and only 1 was accepted...

Re: GCode Error generated in Pocket_3D operation.

Thanks Chrisb. I caught that inspect-GCode later, will use it as you suggest. I'm using LinuxCNC that I modified a bit: preamble, suppressing tool changes for sequential operations that use same tool, so only on new tool#... either I introduced a bug or it's there in Provided Post. I'll check Monday...

Re: Units for feedrate

Thanks Sliptonic. My preference is the small parts and CNC you referenced. I'll try to better articulate it better: if I'm using the Custom-Operation to add GCode, the behavior--on my configuration at least--is different than for other Path-Operation commands, where the Feed-Rate is defined in the T...

Re: GCode Error generated in Pocket_3D operation.

Thanks Mlampert. I'll dig into that Monday when I'm back at work. I appreciate your help. I did successfully mill my mold on 2nd try--not bad for developmental software that's free. I'm really appreciative of the work you all have done. Right now it's a bit loose, but ultimately workable, and the im...

Re: Units for feedrate

I just ran into this and am a bit confused. To get around issues with Facing operation in later versions, I am using: OS: Windows 10 Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.17.12431 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: master Hash: c397aee9ed3efcb2e33fa719313c98cc4867cf32 Python...
