Re: Visual Programming with Dynamo atop Freecad API?

I've played with the blender nodesystem some time ago, and really liked it. So I have done a short FreeCADmacro, that paints widgets into a QGraphicsScene. It doesen't look very nice but a modern look could maybe achievd with some qt knowledge ;) functionality: right click = drag the node, left clic...

2D View / disable rotation

For some 2d graphic inputs it would be nice to disable the rotating interaction. Is there a way to do this with python?

Re: CONTINUED: involute gear generator preview !

Exactly. Thats the definition of involute gear. Its produced by a rack with straight teeth. Therefor the contact points lay always on one line. With bevel gears it is a bit more complex. If the teeth of the rack are straight, you will get a octoide tooth. (all contact points are on a octoide) The ot...

Re: CONTINUED: involute gear generator preview !

I just pulled your update and clicked on each gear type to produce a default gear of that type. They all worked except the bevel gear. The result of my default bevel gear was just a part surface of one tooth, like this I don't think the bevel gear part is quite done yet. I'm still working on this. ;)

Re: CONTINUED: involute gear generator preview !

hello arcol, thanks for testing. I haven't got the error for high number of teeth (second picture). In your picture it looks like the shape of the tooth isn't symmetric or is this because of the perspective? I have updated the readme and added a rack function. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/loooo...

Re: CONTINUED: involute gear generator preview !

I had not much time to work on this. After changing to units, there where some problems. Cycloide and Involute should work again. Bevel gear need some additional work. The loft now produces something like in the picture. So I changed to B-Spline Surfaces, but this is very slow and not ready yet. (Th...

Re: cut surface

another way:

1: make a fusion of the two objects
2: select the needed face and enter this command to duplicate it:
Part.show(Gui.Selection.getSelectionEx()[0].SubObjects[0])

Re: FCGear: a gear generator using Bezier curves

logari81 I totally agree. I had also created such a gear generator for ProE back in 2003. My objection is that in FC I would prefer to split this tool in too parts: 1. A function that generates a point-wise description of a halftooth profile with the required resolution as an input parameter. 2. A f...
