Re: Top-down design testing of the F16 landing gear (Asm3)

For example: Thank you for your response and for the link provided. I had already had the opportunity to consult it. I treated the drag brace anchor in the fuselage as a ball joint. I had this intention but I couldn't locate the center correctly. That is the tricky part of the design. Make sure tha...

Tutorial : Top-down design testing of the F16 landing gear (Asm3)

Hello everyone. Following the current discussions on assemblies, here is a try. This example is an attempt at top-down design using one or more master sketches and the Assembly 3 assembly workbench. The parts are deliberately simplified since it is only a proof of principle exercise. I also didn't t...

Re: Unified Assembly Workbench

The best place to track development is going to be the github project. This will link to all relevant issues and PRs as they are created. I opened a new post at the address below because I am "old" myself, like the forum management tool, and I am clumsy with github. But I will try! https:...

Re: What are the needs for the integrated assembly workbench?

There are many more tools to build real-world assemblies (what about screws for example ?) For assembly elements such as screws and nuts, only their axis and the support plane are useful. So we come back to the Pivot connections that I described. We can adjust the angular orientation for aesthetic ...

Re: What are the needs for the integrated assembly workbench?

Facilitate top down assembly design including the ability to model in-context. I.e. assemble a body before any features are created. Indeed, I haven't had the need to do top-down design yet (I'm only drawing for fun right now), but I intended to experiment with it. I think it's possible since I oft...

Thank you so much. I'm not very familiar with how Github works.
Everything is working.

Re: Unified Assembly Workbench

We never claimed to be experts in assembly. We're doing our best and publishing as we go to give experts like you time to weigh in. Dr. Koh published his theory documents four months ago. You haven't provided any feedback on them that I can see. Hello, I tried to download these documents to study t...

What are the needs for the integrated assembly workbench?

Hello FreeCAD Community, As it is currently being studied to create a default assembly workbench in FreeCAD, I take the liberty of sharing my point of view concerning the tools to be offered in such a workbench, as a user , a basic mechanic . This point of view will inevitably have imperfections and...
