Re: Having trouble combining PartDesign Transformations

Sorry, I didn't realize it only included the name of the model in the post. I thought including inline meant it include a link to download directly in the post.

Should be fixed now.

[SOLVED] Having trouble combining PartDesign Transformations

I have the attached the model where I'd like to apply a simple polar pattern with 4 occurences along the Z axis on the cone, so it cuts 4 holes into the model. Then I'd like to have the whole feature tree (i.e. the model, with the 4 holes already applied) have two linear patterns applied. 1. One alo...

Re: [Sketcher Dimension Tool]: When redundant, automatic switch into reference

In certain cases, the Sketcher workbench already turns certain conflicting constraints into reference ones. However, I am not certain what the conditions are and from what I can remember, they don't seem to be documented. Perhaps, instead of changing the behavior (which I believe is in the workbench...

Re: [New feature] Sketcher Constrain Contextually

(You got the quoting wrong) I don't think I could have messed up the quoting that bad, even if I tried. :D One workaround I could think of is being able to remap each tool's mode cycling key. Then, the option would be between a single mode cycling key or each tool's own mode cycling key. Then, if y...

Re: [New feature] Sketcher Constrain Contextually

Agreed, I would like to have these two options as well. My post was not much more than saying that it may need some fine tuning. One workaround I could think of is being able to remap each tool's mode cycling key. Then, the option would be between a single mode cycling key or each tool's own mode c...

Re: [New feature] Sketcher Constrain Contextually

I see that in the present situation of individual constraints. But I think users will start to change habits with the new combined tool Oh, I have no plans to use the new tool. I've already disabled it from the preferences option. Just an FIY though, clicking the geometry before the tool, also work...

Don't forget: This would require a single key for the tool.
I wasn't aware of that. Why is that? I mean I'm guessing it's because of a technical reason, but I could be wrong. Why couldn't it be something like gg for the tool, and the same for the cycling?

Re: [New feature] Sketcher Constrain Contextually

What I was also suggesting was giving user the additional option to either Have the cycle key as the same as that used to activate the command eg use m to activate polyline and m to cycle. D to activate dimension and d to cycle. X to activate x to cycle. Thus no moving of fingers no othe key to fin...

Re: [New feature] Sketcher Constrain Contextually

Agree about the RSI, but having the initial action key ('D') and cycle key ('M') associated with different hands for normal 2+ finger typists is I think non-ideal. Can I suggest that an option is made that allows the user to select the 'cycle' key - thus hopefully making everyone happy.!** I don't ...

Re: [New feature] Sketcher Constrain Contextually

The argument that this new tool should replace the other constrain tools by default (I.e. that the default setting for the constraint tools choice should be single) because otherwise new/unaware users would be missing out is invalid. This argument relies on the assumption that this new tool is the s...
