Re: Naming of FreeCAD version 0.18
Well, I'm currently, ahem, between jobs, so I could dedicate all my time to documenting FreeCAD. I just need money for myself; here are my estimates Cant possibly see why you are between jobs and could use the money; since you are so skilled and easy to work with! Oh, Excuse me VOX, I left a ...

the splash screen, too--some sort of blend between a 3D model and the TechDraw output from the model. ...with tech drawings styled(colour/hue-wise) as in his CODEX could be pretty cool; see link http://www.ansa.it/english/news/lifestyle/arts/2017/11/24/leonardos-codex-leicester-set-to-return-4_9464...

Naming of FreeCAD version 0.18
I would like to suggest to the FreeCAD community, naming FreeCAD version 0.18 -- " ( SALAI )typo or GIACOMO", after Leonardo Da Vinci's pupil/assistant ( Gian Giacomo Caprotti da Oreno, better known as Salaì ). Since 2019 is the 500 year anniversary of Da Vinci's death. I am sure, had it b...

Re: Thread-turning-simulator
Can you provide anymore information on how to use this in FreeCAD?
Can you provide any screen snap-shots.
I see from the TXlated main.py, integration with Parts and BRep.
Is it a Macro? Is it a WorkBench? Tool?; etc.
Need more README info for installation/usage.
Thanks

Re: Creating CNC roughing and finishing passes
Hey JM, :D Keep up the valuable/great -- work/investigation! Honestly though, I think regular roughing, followed by a surface pass is probably the best option. Depending on the capability of your machining environ, workflow will vary. There is no regular. No!? Part workflow Example: Hog/Rough with D...

Then, in some instances, one ...

Re: Creating CNC roughing and finishing passes
From what I can see, drop-cutter still needs to execute path generation as follows; according to drop-down parameter:
Right! The current execution is only good for wax and styrofoam; No!

Re: Gardening Robot
Rather than using stepper motors, I have chosen to use DC gear motors and I plan to build rotary encoders using slotted optical sensors and 3D printed encoder disks to create a closed loop system. This is because I have a hunch that DC motors are easier to find and have a better price/power ratio t...
