FrreeCAD Tutorial
I have been continuing to think about the FreeCAD tutorials. I have posted my vague concern that something was needed to pull the tutorials together. At that time it was just a vague feeling and I didn't have a good definition of the problem I wanted to solve. Since then I have, as promised in a pri...

Re: Sweep Unexpected Results
Well I tried an open b-spline and added 2 straight lines to make a point at the opening. I tested the sketch by lofting it - all OK. When I tried to sweep my sketch through the b-spline+2lines profile it did not work as I had hoped. I think it is a bug. I also bumped into a lot of things while tryin...

Re: Sweep Unexpected Results
This was an interesting journey: I updated my version and it did not noticably change. I tried a periodic b-spline that is closed and all went well. It is a solid. But why? My speculation is that the original b-spline I used although closed remained as the line with two ends; each end has its own tr...

Sweep Unexpected Results
I made a b-spline loop with a point sketch and a closed sketch. I used sweep of the closed sketch on the bspline. It didn't make a solid and I see some unexpected vertices and surfaces. It looks like the path was followed maybe by the center or bottom of the closed sketch ... I don't know. I am usin...

Re: B-Spline Sketch with Image Getting Started
Thanks Chris. I will explore inkscape too.
I still need to master/learn more bspline in FC.
Maybe my final exam should be a Utah Teapot.

B-Spline Sketch with Image Getting Started
Can someone help me get started here with drawing b-splines over an image? I am practicing tracing an image with b-splines. What I have is so cluttered that I can't see my sketch points. I want to master/improve my b-spline skills so I can later model some jewelry shapes. Is there a good way to appr...

Re: Converting model aircraft plans into a 3D model for printing
TonyR, You and others inspired me to bring up an Ubuntu/FreeCAD .17 system. I had a spare $110 laptop: 64bit, 2 processor, 4GB, 350GB with a broken KB; plugged in a moveable KB while I wait for the part. Had Windows 7 and I erased it. I could have used a much less capable system. I expect I will get...

Sketcher Just a single point
I had an unexpected result today with Schetcher: I watched a tutorial to day for creating pyramids with loft. The presenter lofted one sketcher square to anothger very small square. I experimented with that and instead of a very small square I used a 0x0 square; it worked and I did not have to expla...

Re: Documentation
I think I am starting to understand my sense of the wiki documentation. I continue to feel that in gereral the content is very good with some out-of--release-sync sections. I think 80% of what I an sensing in the documentation wiki is the organization of the documents. I have consulted WikiMedia web...
