Re: Table of Contents
I created a sandbox page with a new index proposal at [[Sandbox:Online_Help_ToC]] , reusing as much as possible original page names, and including a compete reference for the Draft Workbench (in the original index, all detailed guicommand pages were not present, therefore not appearing in the manual...

Re: Annoying messages at startup
I know that in VS you just press F1 and get a full explanation. But I also come from a time when with VS was almost impossible to understand errors and warnings on templates - while I found it much better with GCC. Now things have improved for sure on both sides. But I still think we should have con...

Re: Annoying messages at startup
My 2 cents - too many messages are messy, but I DO like messages (as long as they are not scary). But they should be short and possibly self-explanatory. I know by experience people prefer NOT to read the documentation (you know, too..). I also have another preference: I think that the Report and th...

Re: On Documentation Quality
Yorik, yes I noticed you updated the getting started page, as a matter of fact I was in the wiki doing the same :o but luckily your update preceded mine (it was better) and I ended up adding a reference only. I agree on your proposed content for the rest of the page. I would suggest some simple oper...

Re: On Documentation Quality
Another idea about good pages; I think it would be really helpful and educative to have both good and 'bad' examples for the same page, like for the Arch Wall here. Hoping nobody feels blamed, I think this would clarify the concept. Maybe we can freeze both pages (the 'good' and the 'bad' examples),...

Re: On Documentation Quality
Thanks for the http://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/index.php?title=Arch_Wall rework Yorik. btw Wiki on my side is working ok, but I did not connect yesterday (too busy) so I wouldn't know if it is my location or a temporary issue. My comments on the page: - The page is greatly improved IMO w.r.t. the pre...

Re: Traduction and FuzzyBot
I experienced the same with Italian
I was expecting to see my modifications to the English page marked for translation but the tool reported the translation 98% but the paragraphs were all 100% and in English, if this may help the troubleshooting

Table of Contents
Following my quest to improve the documentation, and to discuss impacting changes, let's talk about the TOC or Index. The wiki page [[Online Help Toc]] is what you reach following the 'Index' hyperlinks. However we have now a multiple discrepancy: the topics in this ToC, the wiki pages names, the le...

Re: On Documentation Quality
Now that we have a dedicated forum section, with no risk to jeopardize the document related discussion, I will split my points one per topic. Discussing more than one topic per forum topic (!) is dispersive. I am already forking the discussion on the index, see 'Table of Contents'. I would still gla...
