Re: Release discussion 0.15
No! Because X64 will not work on XP. I think there are not too many x64 XP users though. The label 64-bit Windows XP is a lie. The x64 version is based on NT 5.2 (like 2003 server). I can picture that one has to use a 32-bit Windows 7,8 or 10. But no sane person would run XP. People who do, can't be...

Re: Better error handling on file open
c) Add a method to Base::FileInfo that gives a localised std::string filename that works with Windows the local codepage is used to map filenames to the 8-bit variant. This would only shift the problem. We had the same trouble with OCCT < 6.8.0 (see src/Mod/Part/App/encodeFilename.h encodeFilename)

Re: FEM: Add preferences dialog
I'm OK with whatever work flow works for the commiter - I just have to understand it :) We do both, the merge based and the rebase based approach. For small branches from a single developer we want to rebase the commits in order to keep our history clean. There are some long running development bra...

Re: Ubuntu repo build mesh
Sorry, i wasn't clear enough. As we don't link against calculix shipping it as an independent deb package does not cause license trouble. (Putting it in the FreeCAD package itself would not make sense for multiple reasons)

Calculix infects the package with the GPL 2.
