Re: Non-Looped Contour/Edge Cutting?

At least for now, FreeCAD Path-WB has areas that are open to further development. That said, it sure is exciting to me seeing how quickly improvements roll out. One example of many is how Shai's Path-Simulation went from a discussion to an integrated reality in less than a month I think... At the mo...

Re: Non-Looped Contour/Edge Cutting?

Hi John, Short answer is no, from what I can tell, there is no existing way to perform a cut with Path that isn't a loop. I've been able to work around this for the Jobs I've done so far, but it does make things a bit more challenging. I've found that Custom-GCode is helpful and since Path-WB displa...

Re: Incorrect path orientation, when path created from rotated sketch

So, regardless if you changed the Placement of your Part, you can modify the Placement of the Base-object clone at any time to suit your needs. You can do that manually in the property editor, use any tools from the Draft WB or the minimal tools we created in the Job editor. In the Setup tab the bu...

Re: CAM simulation for the Path Workbench

Hi Shai, I noticed today that Drilling operations don't seem to be supported. I don't know this, but thought in past that your simulation did show drill-Ops, but I think things may have changed in the Drill-Op since you implemented your simulator--or I wasn't paying attention... Best, Josh OS: Windo...

Re: Surfacing a loft

Beautiful model, and interesting work/hobby jl-mando! Most Path-WB work is now using pre-release v17. That said, I'm not sure--though am very curious to see--if Path-WB is yet up to your task. I believe you need to compile/install OpenCadLib to access the 3D Surface OP--if you haven't already. Best ...

Re: Couple of potential bugs...

That's good info Gene on the pitch approximation--much appreciated. Hand coding is fine too :D Because Path-WB shows paths for Custom GCode, there is still a lot the software is bringing to the table still. Hand also coding allows me to slave the XY motion to the Z-axis. Have you threaded with a Thr...

Re: Couple of potential bugs...

Just an afterthought, but I've got a job coming up using a Thread-Mill, which is a new one for me. This is a single 3-Flute style capable of cutting either Right or Left-Hand threads, by making a helical cut, setting the Step-Down at the thread-pitch. The manufacturer recommends Feeds & Speeds, ...
