Re: FreeCAD as pre-post processor for MBDyn
Sorry. If you downloaded the the WB since my last post announcing the latest update. I found a bug that would not allow running an MBDyn simulation. It is fixed now

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post processor for MBDyn
There has been another update of the MBDyn workbench. It changes the way the MBDyn model is created. It Allows for you to save parameters for multiple simulations, like different initial values. Look for more ways the simulations may be setup in the future. We will update the documentation soon. Tha...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post processor for MBDyn
Hello mfasano Thank you very much first of all for your help. I had configured the solver as you described and the _console.log exist. This time the content is as the following: reading from file "D:\Watch\pend\pend_hinge_input.mbd" warning, derivatives tolerance <= 0.0 is illegal; using ...

Re: V0.19 Top Down Assembly Design Using Assembly4--Update #8
You have been doing great work for a long time. I have said I am always impressed when I visit the User Showcase, and your work does that. Your work with assembly 4 makes me confident about using it as a base for a multibody dynamics Workbench using MBDyn. MBDyn WB(shameless plug for my workbench)

Re: Exploding with Assembly4
I found if you change the placement and do an Gui.updataGui(), it will update the viewscreen with the parts placement but not do a recompute that would apply expressions. Do a recompute and they will go back to the assembled positions May-be, but when you use the "Transform" tool, it does...

Re: Exploding with Assembly4
Maybe stop Assembly4 from re-solving the assembly temporarily so I don't have to release everything before I can transform it? Assembly4 uses FreeCAD's built-in ExpressionEngine to calculate the parts placements, and I don't think it's possible to temporarily deactivate them globally. I had asked a...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post processor for MBDyn
Your video shows nice progress. When you have it ready I'll try the new tutorial and give feedback. Does your code structure allow easy addition of new joints? What is the issue you're facing with the total joint? Is the bug you are referring to is in the FreeCAD daily assembly4 workbench? The code...

Physics/Simulation engine Create a new workbench for Physics/Simulation purpose, by wrapping some existing open source engine, such as Chrono . I do not mean to Highjack this thread, but I have been working on a workbench using MBDyn. The discussion of the project is below. https://forum.freecadweb...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post processor for MBDyn
I have made a mechanism other than a pendulum. It is a slide crank. I had to add quite a few MBDyn elements. to get it. I added commands for a clamp joint, an axial revolution joint, an in line joint, a prismatic joint and a ramp drive caller. I used the slide crank example in Sky Engineering's MBDy...
