Re: How to model a parametric hook?

Hi, thank you all for your feedback! Today I tried your advices, and the workflow is now much faster. Especially the orientation of the Datum Planes as advices from Wilfried lift the process up to a higher level. Only the conversion of the sweep sketch into a b-spline didn't work out, the sketch get...

How to model a parametric hook?

Hi, maybe two years ago I tried to model a smooth looking parametric hook, but failed pretty much (because I couldn't find a way to place sketches on the right places). Now using Part Design next, the job can be done within 15 minutes. I like the new Part Design! The new tools like Datum Planes are ...

freesam wrote: Sun Feb 18, 2018 1:00 pm Do you see an issue in this file ?
Your are right, the analysis in the file you attached doesn't work. Then I used compound filter from part workbench on boolean fragments and the analysis worked quite fine.

Maybe you try the attached file...

Re: Example of an Hex mesh with GMSH

@christophe do you know more about this https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=25875#p204322 in the newest gmsh version are 3d algorithm which allow to create full unstructured hex-meshes, see some settings in the picture. I didn't dig to deep into the settings, but these meshes seem...

Re: Example of an Hex mesh with GMSH

At the moment I see two ways to create hex-dominant meshes with gmsh: First is transfinite Volume and second is extrusion/revolution of quad-meshes. But both of them work merely on quite simple geometries. If one use a combination of several extrusions/revolutions its not so simple to achieve cohere...

Re: CalculiX "no material assigned" error

Hi, I made the video. In the link is a running model just created on the newest development snapshot. You can try if it works on your system. I cleared the mesh, that means you have to remesh the model. https://www.dropbox.com/s/z19lb0v94qiiks0/Thermo.FCStd?dl=0 OS: Windows 10 Word size of OS: 64-bi...

Re: Materials dialogue problem

Please try this: Create a new document Switch to FEM-wb Add an analysis Create a FEM-materials for fluids Select 'Air' as material Look at the value for Kinematic viscosity (it should say "15,1 mm^2/s") Press OK Reopen the material dialogue Now the value is set to "1000 mm^2/s" ...
