[Solved] Part Design Part missing "Origin" feature

I've just been working on a new file and made quite a bit of progress between saves so I don't have a backup save without this issue. Something happened and I managed to delete the "Origin" feature in a Part Design part (the container that holds the X, Y, Z planes and axis). Is there a way...

Suppress Feature

I remember when I was using Inventor years ago it has a feature called "suppress feature" that you could apply to a feature to in essence delete it while not really doing so, so you can unsuppress it and it will be back again. I recently thought about it while designing something that uses...

Re: Open and Save Dialog

Interesting. It did not persist when I fist tried it but I disabled it just now and restarted and it persisted. I think I mistook it being described as runtime that it had to be done each time the application was opened.

Thanks again, glad you corrected in case someone else sees this.

Re: Open and Save Dialog

Thanks very much! It didn't work at first, than I looked at the dates and realized I had to switch to the Daily release. I got it to run on startup and in case anyone was curious this is how I did it: -Installed the Autoload add-on from the add-on manager. -Created a macro with the two lines of code...

Open and Save Dialog

This is such a minor thing I almost hate to post about it. Lately I have been using Ubuntu folder bookmarks to give me quick access to the folders I'm currently using lots. Lots of applications show these when you go to open/save a file. This isn't the case with FreeCAD and I'm not sure why. It's re...

Re: cfMesh install problem

I have a feeling you are using the CFD workbench and not CfdOF. I had not realised that it shares the same preference page, but it is an earlier version which loads the standard cfMesh version. Almost all of the material on this forum relates to CfdOF, but we should really change the title so that ...

Re: cfMesh install problem

I was for sure using the installer in the preferences. After I read theschrader's comment I decided to give downloading and installing cfMesh-CfdOF manually a try, which actually worked (I didn't know I could get it from sourceforge). It took a little fiddling to get to work as I'm not super familia...

Re: cfMesh install problem

Gladly, thanks for the help. It seemed I had to delete the files in the directory for the changes to take effect. It failed to install and this is the output log file: wmake libso meshLibrary wmakeLnInclude: linking include files to ./lnInclude Making dependency list for source file workflowControls...

cfMesh install problem

I'm having trouble installing cfMesh through the Preferences > CFD dialogue. I see others have been having trouble but none, as far as I can tell, match the problem I'm having. I installed OpenFoam5 and this is the only dependency left before I can get CFD to work. I have pasted in the contents of t...

Re: Is 30 second compute times normal for more complex models?

Right clicking on the document item in the tree view. There are some options to control the recompute routine. Maybe you will be able to incorporate that into your design procedure. To for example change more parameters and after do a recompute. Effectively reducing the time needed to get the job d...
