Gcode file save dlg options

Hi, Feature request: Every time I post process and save my gcode file I have to mess with the file save dlg options. Firstly "auto resize" is ON every time even if I deselected it last time. Second, which columns are shown is configurable but not retained from one use of the dlg to the nex...

Re: Anomalous dimension.

Thanks Gene, Yes, you are correct, it's not path in fact. I have tracked this down to sketch placement ( yet again ). The two sketches with the hole plans were not correctly positioned on the faces they were attached to. Earlier I was imagining it was all parametric and was confused why it did not l...

Ramp dressup : 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'Edges'

Hi, I just found that I get an error on a ramp dressup if I toggle the active state of the underlying path. Also if I toggle the dressup itself. Still the icon grey state getting out of sync with active state which is confusing. Sorry if this is fixed, my master is a little out of date now. edges = ...

Anomalous dimension. [FIXED]

Hi, I am having an oddity I can't understand. I have bearing block based on the sketch below padded to 230mm. In the sketch I can check the distance from bearing axis to the flat edge as 19.5mm ( shown ). When I go to the path editor it seems the hole ( pocket ) is centred at 17.5mm from the edge wh...

Re: thread milling?

Rolled threads are stronger than tapped threads. Bicycle spokes have rolled threads for that reason. The thread o/d ends up bigger than the spoke diameter since nothing is removed. Often, special high tensile bolts , like for con-rod caps are rolled threads. High quality, precision ball-screws are r...

Re: thread milling?

Hey cool, it works. I'll have to try to knock up a test tool.

Maybe at least this would be a good way to start a thread good and vertical , cut half the depth and then finish by hand with a proper tap.

Re: thread milling?

The threadmill operation will require a threadmill tool. This is brand new stuff so there isn't one in the example toolbits. It looks like phpbb won't let me attach a toolbit (.fctb) So I can't give you mine but here's the contents. { "version": 2, "name": "threadmill"...

Re: thread milling?

Interesting, I'll try to find time to look at this later. I would really suggest you get set up for doing a full local build. Getting a clone of the source code tree and building is relatively simple. It just means pulling in the relative devel packages ( header files ) for your platform. Use qt5 De...

Re: Path Profile Faces: 4th-axis integration

this one allows me to use the 3/8" endmill that I want to use in real life, where the pocket operation doesn't allow this. Look at extensions in the pocket set up dlg. Deselect "extend corners" and then you can select to edges to extend . That should allow you to "pocket" b...
