[solved]Re: BAD crash with trying to open Mac FCad file on Win 10
I just want to report back, and say that main problem seemed to be a BAD hard drive (conventional drive). I noticed that the win10 task manager reported very low data rates at full drive data capacity to the drive at all times (even when there seemed to be no need to access the drive). My computer w...

Re: use of bspline in sketcher crashes in v.18 and v.19
I replicated the error again and noticed an interesting error message: Illegal storage access! Please save your work under a new file name and restart application!
On the very bottom it says: Unhandled Base::Exception caught in GUIApplication::notify........

Re: use of bspline in sketcher crashes in v.18 and v.19
No problem here. Does it crash as well if you end creating the B-spline with right mouse click? Or by switching to another tool? OS: macOS High Sierra (10.13) Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.19.19180 (Git) Right mouse click gets me out of that Bspline curve. At this ...

use of bspline in sketcher crashes in v.18 and v.19
Am I doing something terribly wrong, is the bspline function broken in the latest versions of FCAD? Clipboard01.jpg Here is my workflow: 1. imported jpeg image and moved it -.1mm in the z-axis 2. create sketch 3. sketch (click) along image profile with bspline tool to add points 4. when I hit 'esc' ...

[solved] why does polar pattern cut off my circular pocket
Simple issue...why does my polar pattern of the pocket (circle) get cut off like this? polar pattern cut off.jpg OS: Windows 10 Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.19.17352 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: master Hash: ec0049921b813ee78c1fd4ea304e70904a3208f7 Python vers...

Re: Air Plane Design Workbench - discussion thread
Fred, This is very useful. Your work is appreciated. If possible, would you mind sharing just a small section (red circle) of your wing example so I can figure out how best to do this for myself? wing-example-section.jpg now hotwire Foam cutter. profile XY UV shoudt be considert to bring a good gcod...

Re: Air Plane Design Workbench - discussion thread
Thank you for the quick replies to help me out. I will work on your instructions. Eventually, this is what I would like to learn how to do. There is a new technique to create 3d printed airplanes and it requires really good CAD technique because the wing ribs are not at the standard angle. See here:...

Re: Air Plane Design Workbench - discussion thread
Fred, Thank you. I tried playing around with your WB. Can you or someone show which WB or tool to make holes in the ribs and give them thickness so I can 3D print them. I tried to use the part design work bench and sketch but Freecad didn’t like that because there was no body container. I think I am...
