Re: SVG from Sketcher sketch?

Yes, I see that now. What I did was: select face, ctrl+e, and skimmed down the list until I saw *.svg... Since we require selecting something before export gets to the dialog, it would be nice if we did something smart based on the selection. Like, filter to only present the valid sorts of export......

Re: SVG from Sketcher sketch?

That's perfect thanks! I had tried the Drawing SVG export, which was decidedly not-ideal, and completely missed the one you pointed out.

SVG from Sketcher sketch?

Occasionally, I've needed to draw an SVG file for a part to be laser cut, where that part needs to fit accurately with some other thing. I personally find Inkscape to be a good tool for working with SVGs in general, but Sketcher in FreeCAD to be much much better for generating the sort of shapes I'm...

Re: FreeCAD for MacOS now more than 100 commits behind

This isn't meant to be snarky or whiny, but rather to the point: In recent history, there have been <5 of us who have maintained the Mac builds, and I think all are professional computer people for their "real jobs". In other words, the combination of free time and willpower to work on com...

Re: Material improvements

It's good to see attention in this area bernd. I think it will be easier for you to update from the branch on my github mentioned a few posts back here, rather than eivind's original work. I'll try to update that branch sometime soon - not likely to be in the next week as I have some work to get don...

Hi EDM Master, and welcome to FreeCAD!

Please read through the link above "IMPORTANT:..." and update your post accordingly. You haven't given enough information to enable someone to help directly.

Re: Toughened glass fire place hearth

Thanks!

Yeah, the fridge isn't going to be in that position for a whole lot longer - current plan is to extend the wall that's behind the wood stove, to the right as shown in that picture. More urgent projects to do before the kitchen though, specifically insulation!

Toughened glass fire place hearth

My main distraction from working on FreeCAD, besides work, over the last ~2 months has been this new "home ownership" thing. I bought an old house (well, not that old, it's about 65 years old) in the same neighbourhood where we've been renting. It's got "good bones", but will be ...

Re: FreeCAD with OpenCAMLib from Homebrew

I'd need more information about the FreeCAD you're running to be sure. The FreeCAD app bundle contains a builtin Python, which is separate from the system Python (and historically, different again from the Homebrew installed one, sometimes). I think you've managed to install OpenCAMLib to the system...

Re: MacOS Testing request - OpenCAMLib Homebrew formula

(Split from MacOS Testing request - OpenCAMLib Homebrew formula)

From what I remember, OCL provides a Python import. So, there isn't really a difference between having both installed, versus installing FreeCAD with OCL. Have you tried using OCL from FreeCAD, now that you've got both installed?
