Niezłą funkcją FC jest też możliwość używania siatek do rozwijania skomplikowanych kształtów. To znacznie bardziej niezawodne rozwiązanie (bo matematyka jest dużo prostsza) niż wykorzystywanie kernela CAD do tego zadania.
