Re: Sketcher does not allow usage of reference constraints
One of the best reason for angles equality constraints are for the mirror/clone/pattern cases I think. Also right now the clone object does not even copy the expression, only the angle value so that means you can't event use an expression to do it. Pretty limiting; I'm not sure if there is a request...

Re: Sketcher does not allow usage of reference constraints
I guess using construction mode geometry you can get a line of the right dimension and then use an equal constraint to do the "geometrical calculator" job. However, as there are no equal constraints for angles, how do you do it ? Using an isosceles triangle should work but would be a pain ...

Re: How to model a parametric hook?
Thanks all for your comments, so for future reference, I changed the ellipses to splines and then manually aligned the first points (top right) to get the correct result (bottom right, the seam is straight). I understand FC might not control the first point, but it does make figuring out where that ...

Re: How to model a parametric hook?
Thanks Christoph for your check and confirming my problem! I can tell you why it's going wrong. All sketches must have the startpoint at the same side. So you have to move the two sketches under 90° in the sketcher, so please delete the vertical constraint, rotate with the mouse and then set a new v...

Re: How to model a parametric hook?
Thanks Christoph for that great educational video. Following it without sound is easy enough, google auto-subtitle + auto-translate is pretty funny (pun intended), as in you kept using the "laughing tool" While I'm trying to reproduce, I run into issues with the loft: - the first poi...

Re: Help with Multi-part sketch with sketch-based constraint geometry in FC 0.17/0.18
No, you can't change facemaker in partdesign. Thanks for the precision. I finally explored shape-binder to use the master sketch concept in part-design and it seems to be pretty convenient and working. I'll have to see if I can use it more, staying in part design as much as possible seems to be the...

Re: Help with Multi-part sketch with sketch-based constraint geometry in FC 0.17/0.18
Change property 'Face Maker' of Extrude object to "Part::FaceMakerSimple", and the sketch extrudes just fine. DeepSoic, interesting that seems to go pretty deep in FC bowels though to change that face Build_Essence  ( https://www.freecadweb.org/api/df/dde/classPart_1_1FaceMaker.htm...

Re: Placement using spreadsheet values...
Yeah I see,
I found a topic that i remembered reading a while ago:
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=27780
I have not tried, but it might be working for what you want by changing the type of the external geometry? keep us updated if that worked
Cheers
