Re: Fully configurable parts

Greetings to the Community! freeblex Everything you describe can be done in FreeCAD, because it is the nature of parametric CAD, in FC to succeed in this undertaking you essentially need: - acquire an excellent knowledge of FreeCAD (mainly means knowing its defects and the countermeasures to limit t...

Re: Possible regression issue in 0.22dev (asked to report it here)

Greetings to the Community! Lt72884 Please do not duplicate answers, at most correct the first one. As you may have already read, FC is a very young and above all non-commercial and entirely free project, developed by many enthusiasts scattered all over the world, therefore these inconveniences can ...

@chrisb
I certainly agree with you too, but I think I wasn't wrong, in fact, in the previous reply, I confirmed that "Draft" is not pure 2D and I specified: "... it cannot produce 3D objects intended as such" (i.e. real even if virtual).

Re: TechDraw_ProjectShape in Part?

Draft is nothing 2D specific. When i use Draft >90% all the time it is something 3D. Draft is a concept of working, no output dimension, never was. Greetings to the Community! user1234 I agree with you that "Draft" is not a pure 2D, but a 2D whose work planes can be infinite, in any case ...

Re: Measuring

Greetings to the Community! slicster As already mentioned, you must not use faces and edges of functions to map the sketches, always prefer existing plans and sketches for external geometries and position the sketches using the offset, also avoid using repetitive dimensional constraints, instead pre...

Re: TechDraw_ProjectShape in Part?

Greetings to the Community! ....well, in any case one is as good as the other, after all you can create an additional button, which recalls the function wherever you want, but I continue to lean towards native insertion in the wb (Swiss army knife) "Draft" :lol: , because as I have already...

Re: Possible regression issue in 0.22dev (asked to report it here)

Greetings to the Community! Lt72884 Without prejudice to the clarifications of Bance You have already acquired a fair amount of experience with FreeCAD, so you should know that you don't need to map on faces and that in some cases it is better to create intersections. ;) The image shows the flow to ...

Re: TechDraw_ProjectShape in Part?

Greetings to the Community! wandererfan Susami I misunderstood your reply because reading "Werner has implemented..../ Part /App..." I thought you preferred the "Part" wb. "ProjectShape" is in some ways similar to the "Create projection on surface..." function...

Re: How to extrude a pentagon from the center point

How did you dimension Sketch002 ? Did you measure angles/lengths of Body or what? Greetings to the Community! edwilliams16 The basic irregular pentagon is based on the dimensions that were indicated in the image that knottyjamiti had attached to the origin of the topic then, for no one knows why, r...

Re: How to extrude a pentagon from the center point

Greetings to the Community! knottyjamiti Two choices for those who want to try rolling, respecting the dimensions of the pyramid, using the "Sheet Metal" wb. This is not a challenge, but rather it would be interesting to see how the "Sheet Metal" wb fares. Attached is the file wi...
