I think you could just write a ticket for the feature request, and in it reference the topic you linked to in #2. After you submit the request, edit the post in #2 again to include the number of the ticket.

I am a starter with freeCad and suddenly have a problem with highlighting. When trying - for instance - to achieve symmetry of a square to an axis the cursor won't allow me to just highlight the points but the lines are highlighted every time which makes the symmetry-function unworkable.
