Re: X-ray draw style

Hi,

Totally second this ! It would be a great UI addition.
It's true you can select all objects and set their transparency to 70% and obtain a similar result, but doing so, you break all your transparent objects view settings.

Deserves a feature request

Re: A more user friendly Collada .dae exporter

Re: LibreOffice with Python 3.5

I have not done any more. While I think that integrating LibreOffice freecad would be very beneficial, unfortunately I don't have the programming skill set to pursue this. One of the big stumbling blocks for me is not being able to use an IDE such Eclipse. Sad news, but the lack of dev skills is a ...

Re: BOM (Bill Of Materials) function

G'evening I totally second pushing the BoM feature to the front ! BTW, something I'm wondering, wouldn't it benefit from a a feature packed spreadsheet app ? If so, shouldn't this effort be joined with those aiming to connect FreeCAD and LibreOffice ? See here: * https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtop...

Re: Spreadsheet

Hi, AFAIC, I use spreadsheets a lot for design parametrization together with Assembly2 workbench for parts positioning (into single file) with great results ! Just be careful to appropriately set the placement properties of the first part of the first assembly constraint you create because it's the ...

Alembic format for rendering engines integration

Hi, Recently discovered the Alembic Open Source framework from Imageworks/LucasFilm and think it could be a valuable addition for integration with other CG softwares and specially for rendering of FreeCAD designs. Alembic defines itself as "an open computer graphics interchange framework [that]...

Problem with Draft feature on hollow sections

Hi, Planning the construction of sanding and painting booth at work, I wanted to design it with hollow square and rectangular section steel tubes. First downloaded CAD files from TraceParts to realize profiles where already available in Parts Library ! Then, as I plan to assemble tubes with miter jo...
