Great work, DeepSOIC !
Looking forward to trying it out.

Re: How could this part have been more parametric?
The reason that the geometry in your Sketch got associated to some other geometry is a known problem. Internally FreeCAD names / numbers the geometry (Edges, Faces, etc) in your model. If you link to external geometry named (for example) Edge011 and go back and change something earlier in your mode...

How could this part have been more parametric?
Hello fellow FreeCAD users! I have been working on a part for a polargraph drawing machine for a while and have gotten it to work. Now I want to change the dimension of a pocket, it should be a little longer. It's the one in the middle called ServoPocket: Gondola_servo_arm_saga_01.jpg As you can see...

Re: Changes doesn't affect clone
Thanks yorik and DeepSOIC!
That's some power tips. I'm really glad it's possible to use clones in a more parametric and non-destructive way .

Re: Changes doesn't affect clone
Hello, That change does not happen on the clone as I thought. It won't, because the clone is based on the Pocket feature. If you add other features you need to create a new clone based on the last Part Design feature in the tree. Thanks. I'll just have to delete and re-clone if I add to the origina...

Changes doesn't affect clone
Hello forum! I can't find out how to clone properly. As a test I have created a sketch in Part Design and made a pocket feature. I then cloned my pocket feature and moved it a bit so both are visible. So far so good. Now I created a sketch with a circle and padded that on my original object. That ch...

Re: Can't find Sketch Error
It would have been easier for you if you had centered your first Sketch about the origin, but I changed it. I also changed your other Slot sketch so both slots are on one sketch, Pocketed "Through All", and PolarPatterned the Pocket 3 occurrences about 360 degrees: Thanks, I thought about...

Re: Can't find Sketch Error
Guys, thank you so much for your help. What an amazing community! I followed your advice and recreated the part with separate sketches and it sure was much easier :) . (And sorry for the late reply, I had to work on other things for a while.) Now I have continued with my model and actually I need sl...

Re: Can't find Sketch Error
I'll add, that in your sketch, you have several 0.0 distance constraints. This is never a good way to constrain a sketch and in many instances will lead to errors. One of them can bee seen in the screen capture posted. Using a 0.0 distance constraint will often hide a line segment with no length an...
