Re: DXF export and dimensions on drawings

@user: If you're working in 2D only LibreCAD might be easier to use than FreeCAD [*]. LibreCAD is a QCad fork with Qt4 instead of QT3 (I might be wrong here) and it's already IMHO better that QCad. Link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/librecad/ [*] That's just my opinion, I have AutoCAD/Microstatio...

Re: Screencast on arrays

I think that a helix with radius close to 0, path array and polar array combined can create what you want. See attached file.

Re: Compiling on fedora 21

I think that last 4 lines of the script are not in the wiki, but anyway Coin3 is now in fedora stable repo, so updated version of the script below: #!/bin/bash ARCH=x86_64 #ARCH=i686 MAIN_DIR=FreeCAD BUILD_DIR=build #FEDORA_VERSION=20 FEDORA_VERSION=21 #FEDORA_VERSION=22 echo "Installing packag...

Re: Compiling on fedora 21

Feel free to use it. I'm fine with the link - I might be able to help if something goes wrong with the script. I'll ask you to update the script when Coin3 in in official fedora repo (it's in testing now) if that's OK.

Re: Compiling on fedora 21

A simple script for fedora [*] to install all required packages, clone repo and build FreeCAD: http://www.pasteall.org/56959/bash #!/bin/bash ARCH=x86_64 #ARCH=i686 MAIN_DIR=FreeCAD BUILD_DIR=build #FEDORA_VERSION=20 FEDORA_VERSION=21 #FEDORA_VERSION=22 cd /tmp #Coin3 will be soon in official fedora...

Re: Coding standards in FreeCAD

@drei Thanks! That's exactly what I wanted. @shoogen Thanks for the info and opinions! I felt that my "patch" was not a proper c++ however I wanted to show that I prefer to read one line (function call) instead of 3 lines doing something.I did it in a wrong way - OK, accepted, I'll try har...

Re: Forum search problem

OK, thanks for the explanation! I though that I might be doing something wrong as I have exactly the same problem with raspberry forum.

Coding standards in FreeCAD

That's my first post in the developers corner, so a few words about me: I have ~0 knowledge of c++, I more than comfortable with C and python and others if needed ;) I started to fill bug reports for FreeCAD a while ago, but only a few days ago I managed to compile & run FreeCAD from the source....

Re: Compiling on fedora 21

Thanks! I managed to compile freecad with Coin3 and I hit the same draft/fem errors. I compiled and installed Coin3 using some silver tape and elbow grease (source edits to fix freetype path error and --no-deps installation to workaround rpm short-circuited build). It was impossibe to compile freeca...
