Re: Pocket operation cutting outside of area
Please try the Path generation Sadly still the same behavior as before. Even a full document recompute doesn't seem to fix it. Re: Pocket operation cutting outside of area
I agree that if the model is invalid then the Path workbench is just the messenger in this case and I'm certainly not arguing that Path should work with invalid models. But what's confusing to me is that I still can't see any issue with the model. Bear with me here, I'm not challenging anyone! I jus...

Re: Pocket operation cutting outside of area
I didn't mean to offend you. I realize that I might have miscommuncated my intent! My goal in posting this is not so much to find a way to cut this model (kids need to learn to wait for things!) but rather to identify and fix the issue with path generation. To that end I was making the point that th...

Re: Pocket operation cutting outside of area
Did you set the tolerances in Path Preferences to small values? The tolerances are still set to their default value of 0.0004" (about 1 micron) If I recompute your model it collapses. It is a very fragile and complicated model. Aside from the Pocket (and apparently Profile as well, something a...

Pocket operation cutting outside of area
I created a (arguably complicated) part for the kiddos. To start, I selected all the faces that make up the tracks and selected Pocket at once. The result is interesting: Screenshot_2018-06-13_20-45-11.png Some parts of the track look really good, others cut through areas that are not included in th...

Simulation stealing mouse focus
It seems like whenever I am running a simulation, the redraw of the model steals my mouse focus. This basically prevents me from being able to use my keyboard whenever a simulation is running (which can be a while on my aging computer!) Looks like this is the result of me using the "Focus follo...

Option for using diameter instead of radius?
I know it's minor but many of us work in diameters instead of radii and when you're working with a lot of circles/arcs, it's just one step that's repeated over and over. I know we can always enter expressions but it'd be really nice to just to enter a diameter and also have it drawn as such. Makes v...

Can we just take a moment to say thanks!
I'm sure everyone thinks it but doesn't post it enough: thanks to everyone who has made the Path workbench operational! I know tons of work goes into this and all most of us do is complain how things aren't working well enough. Really though, obviously there is a long way to go but I just wanted to ...

Re: Remove Unwanted Dogbones
File attached. Can you please post your FreeCAD info (or did I miss it)? I didn't post it yet. I was in a rush and that computer is currently at home. I'll post it tonight but it was from the non-Ubuntu PPA sometime around last week (I know that doesn't help much!) Also, I did have many rounds of s...

Re: Consolidating Buttons
What problem are you trying to solve? Space on the tool bar? I'll preface my argument with a caveat: right now there aren't that many operations so I agree this discussion is perhaps a bit preliminary. I'm not advocating we change anything right now, just something to think about as the Path workbe...
