I would recommend meshmixer or meshlab for dealing with STL manipulations like scaling etc. . FreeCAD comes into sense when you want to really modify the object by creating a solid out of it ,modify, re-export as STL.

I personally could probably live with it for80% of my designs.. but if you want to tell a newbie to remember all that names..he will run away

Ich hab das eine oder andere auch in Thinigiverse abgeguckt.

I have no problem to move the obejct with "transform" .what stays, is the CUBE . In my opinion,a quiete senseless way to create this cube outside of the body and then reference it via body feature.
