Re: Local LCS in Part not Attached
My Local_LCS has a big red blob on the Icon. Does this indicate it is Unattached? Yes. Bad practice IMHO. I am trying to create an LCS at the Part Origin and the creation Dialog does not accept selection of the Part Origin. Make the origin visible and select an axis or a plane. I also want to know ...

Re: ASM4 - Yankee_Differential_Cardan - Progress
The Point import is still not in the right place. I just do not understand why it is working for me and not you. I am currently using this version: ``` OS: Windows 11 build 22631 Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.22.0dev.36166 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: main Hash: a5ea8023a29b6d7bbf1eb...

Re: Using Points for Part Location in Assembly4
I assume you have closely studied my file and post, especially the sequence of assembly. Have you no questions about these? I have briefly reviewed your files and have a few comments: 1. In the future, I heartily encourage you to use an Assembly4 Body instead of a PartDesign body since it already in...

Re: ASM4 - Yankee_Differential_Cardan - Progress
For the creation of Point3 it seems correct. I deactivate the original Fusee. I select the Assembly directory (bold + color) then Point3 in the tree of the linked object FuseeVoieCourte002 then click on the ImportDatum icon. When I follow the same process in the files you sent me the imported Point...

Re: ASM4 - Yankee_Differential_Cardan - Progress
Which point? Point 3 looks good.
Make sure you are selecting the point in the part or body link in the Assembly not in the original part or body or in the 3D view. Without your latest file I cannot not suggest anything further.

Re: Assembly 4 workbench
When creating an LCS, I encounter snapping problems in the proposed window (x3) regardless of the anchoring selection. There is always an error. Also to get around this problem, I do Cancel, then right click on the LCS and I select Attachment Editor in the banner. Or, you can select the points in t...

Re: Using Points for Part Location in Assembly4
For example, there must be some way to create a Point in a Part such that it is visible and selectable outside the Part. Assembly4 points are datum same as LCS's and they are created and attached in the same manner. Please see further explanation in the Assembly4 instructions and a recent post for ...

Re: Parametric reuse in FreeCAD?
...you can have an extremely complex 2D shape which you want to reuse many times just with different angles or lengths and still be able to just edit the base sketch and have those derived ones updated I generally use Sketcher > CarbonCopy for that purpose. https://wiki.freecad.org/Sketcher_CarbonC...
