Re: Extreme Difficulty coming from Autodesk Inventor 2019.
Hi, and welcome to the forum! Here is some helpful information (prerequisites, in a way): http://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2264 We'll need to know what FreeCAD version(s) you're using, that link explains in more detail. I am shocked at how completely incapable I am of doing the si...

Re: FreeCAD hangs and other issues
One thing I noticed when editing the file from 0.17/MacOS was that a bunch of errors were reported, mostly FreeCAD complaining that some shapes had too many constraints (i.e. they were in a loop) and it didn't like some fillets. I fixed the constraints and deleted the fillets for now. There are als...

Re: How to select only vertices within a boxed region or ease selection of single vertices?
Here is some ideas about key config customization. Which one do you think would work? Allow users to customize those key bindings by selecting from prepackaged "selection key configs". Provide only one pre-configured one defined as as you stated (with modifications for the missing keys yo...

Re: Frustrations with FreeCAD
What you mean by "you can place the Sketch by using Expressions" ? As a simple example, instead of Mapping a Sketch onto the top face of a Pad you can use the Data tab > Property column > Attachment Offset > Position field, and use an Expression to locate the Sketch at Pad.Length. Or you ...

Re: How to select only vertices within a boxed region or ease selection of single vertices?
The implementation will hardcode the key bindings described below and are not user-customizable. I think that users will want to customize the key bindings (more on that later). The user is expected to type one or more of the Selection Modes to put the selection into a mode, type one of the the Bou...

Re: How to select only vertices within a boxed region or ease selection of single vertices?
Thanks for the thorough explanation; I think that I'll have to study it a bit before I understand it fully.

Re: Frustrations with FreeCAD
it is absolutely impossible to draw anything without connecting it to existing geometry, I mean without coincidence. Not true (see below). If there is no coincidence between two model features, then in the case when I change any dimensions, I will need to redefine, recalculate all other dimensions ...

Re: New User - 1 Degree Validation
Hi Jase, and welcome! Select one Endpoint of the top horizontal line segment, select an endpoint of the lower horizontal line segment, select the horizontal axis (the X Axis) and apply a Symmetry Constraint. Or you can use a Vertical Distance Constraint to constrain any Endpoint in your Sketch any d...
