I fail in lining up the camera view in the direction of the plane (how should I do that?)

Re: From 3D part to 2D sketch, whatever the camera position
I have the feeling Draft Shape2DView is something I can use. Apart from the fact that I get also the internal edges inside the produced Shape2DView (I prefer only the outer line). And still...

From 3D part to 2D sketch, whatever the camera position
Created a 3D design. Now I would like to do the next steps: 1. View on top of the XZ plane; 2. Create a 2D sketch from the outer limits of what I have in my display (seems like Draft->Facebinder, but without selecting any 'face'; 3. Rotate +15° around the Z-axis; 4. Back to #2, Repeat until 165°; I ...

Re: Image on part-disappear in assembly
Interesting  Trying to migrate the file I uploaded in 2019, using V0.19.24267 but it fails (migrating fails quite a lot with my older designs, unfortunately). Using A2Plus V0.4.54b I tried to import an assembly with images inside. Still the same effect, so from my pov: not solved. Also I found...

Re: Adapt downloaded stepfile fails
Thanks for your help chrisb and Shalmeneser. Sorry for the late anwer. Both possibilities are ok. But still; it is time consuming. I have the feeling this went easier 'in the past' (no offence obviously). But also 'in the past' it could happen that unexpected things happen if a stepfile was imperfect.

Re: Adapt downloaded stepfile fails
Thanks chrisb, that wat actually very easy... Never get rid of the 'good-old' Part WB
Is this the reason why the Part Design WB 'fails'?CheckGeometry show lots of errors.

Adapt downloaded stepfile fails
Downloaded what is in the attachement. For quite some time I tried to make a hole of Ø26mm in the center which also removes the threaded 'bolt' part. If someone succeeds; could you please tell how you did it? Because I tried anything twice (at least): 1. In Part Design, tried to migrate >>> Don't be...

Re: Major update from 0.16 to 0.19: Migrating problems
I wrote this in the fipo: A2plus migration 1. Migrate in A2plus + save + reload: parts are converted, constraints are unchanged; 2. Repair treeview: constraints are now 'inside' the parts, but still 'grey'; 3. Activate Constraint + 'Highlight both constrained parts': the surfaces are displayed (appa...

Re: Major update from 0.16 to 0.19: Migrating problems
For such a big jump in versions it is probably best to restart with a plain vanilla config; see https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Frequently_asked_questions#FreeCAD_was_running_normally.2C_and_suddenly_it_doesn.27t_start_anymore . I tried this already. Also I made a backup of the older config, expecting ...
