Re: Assembly3 preview

One trick I'm using is: Go to Github and open an issue (in any repository) Drag and drop your attachment into the issue text area, let Github upload the attachment Share that link You can dispose that issue on Github Thank you for your advice. I set up an account, created an issue in Realthunders A...

Re: Assembly3 preview

I experience some dejavu effects in assemblies tested in ASM3. I'd attach the ZIP file of this shed structure, but it's too large for this forum (circa 2,5MB). ShedDeJavue.PNG Some set's of parts in one of the sub-assembly (shown above) are shown twice for no obvious reason. They are not entered twi...

Re: Planetary Gear Inner Gear

Also not a gear expert, but I think the internal/external spur gear difference is a little more than just terminology (and, I am sure that "external" in this context means "spur that has the teeth pointing out" - the Part Design tool is the right way around). The addendum of one...

Re: Planetary Gear Inner Gear

Exporting to DXF is not a got choice to evaluate curves data. Please see here: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=31280 Better will be using Info tool from CurvesWB. I'm going to learn something new :-). But if it is a screen and DXF processing issue, I still may need to export co...

Re: Planetary Gear Inner Gear

realthunder's fork is very different than the main FreeCAD repo. Can you recreate the issues you are reporting on 0.17 and 0.18dev? FYI, realthunder's fork is currently on 0.8.6 Sure I'll try. I have 0.17 on my W7 machine, I'll test it there on Wednesday. I'll try to install 0.17 on this W10 machin...

Re: Planetary Gear Inner Gear

Maybe it's just your 3D view display tessellation settings. Default is 0.5% which will approximate curves with straight line segments. Thank you for your suggestion. Do you mean Edit --> Preferences : Part Design Section : Shape View Tab : " Maximum deviation depending on the bounding box &quo...

Re: Planetary Gear Inner Gear

Or, one could use the PartDesign>InvoluteGear feature: internal_gear.JPG . This creates a sketch which you can drag/drop in a body and use this to pocket a blank disc to create a ring gear. Thank you, this tool has option for external and internal teeth. However, the "High precision" opti...

Re: Planetary Gear Inner Gear

know this is an old thread. But I want to emphasize, that if you substract involute gear from a cylinder you DON'T get valid involute inner teeth. I did it yesterday, but it was too quick thinkging. The result could be acceptable for some info graphics, but certainly not e.g. for 3D printing a real...
