Re: Extrusion issue - Engine Block Tutorial
I'm here to tell ya, it ain't just you! I struggled with it my own self for about 20 or so minuets before I got it to look right. Sad part is, don't remember just what i did to get it but I kind of went my own way at that point. i did experience the same such things you did, clicking OK twice and al...

Re: Trouble with STEP files | was- Any way to edit iges files
Uninstalled HeeksCAD, rooted out all the oce libs I could find, (renamed them just in case deleting ended up in a mega-crash), and no joy. Problem is still there. At least i can get the .step files i through the Part Workbench So this is now just an annoyance and no longer a show stopper, which is a...

Re: Annoying messages at startup
On my system, i was geting the last two - Teigha File Converter not found, DWG support will be disabled. pycollada not found, collada support will be disabled. Though I first became aware of them from launching from the console, as you said, the output window was hidden by default. Though in my case...

Re: Trouble with STEP files | was- Any way to edit iges files
My guess is that HeeksCAD depends on oce while FreeCAD still depends on occ. Unfortunately, we still cannot move to oce because the package (on Launchpad) has some invalid dependencies which makes the FreeCAD package fail to build. And then there seems to be a problem when oce and occ are installed...

Re: Trouble with STEP files | was- Any way to edit iges files
Mark, I'm running 2411 on Debian 64 bit and can open and export you part to .step without issue. Are you using liboce or libopencascade? Hi, thanks for chiming in, welcome, welcome... I'm using libopencascade-6.5.0. Now here's a kick, i just opened several .step files with this - import FreeCAD,Fre...

Re: Trouble with STEP files | was- Any way to edit iges files
I could open that step file without trouble on Ubuntu 12.04. Here's something you could try, no guarantee though: when having the odd trouble with FreeCAD, sometimes it helps to delete the hidden ~/.FreeCAD folder as well as the ~/.config/FreeCAD/FreeCAD.conf file. Please note that this will remove...

Re: Trouble with STEP files | was- Any way to edit iges files
Hello Mark, On the daily build package, STEP export was changed from prior versions. When exporting to STEP, you need to select your shape first, then in the drop down, select "STEP with colors", and type a name without extension, it will be added automatically. As for your import trouble...

Re: Any way to edit iges files?
It's not crashing on loading/saving ANY file, it's crashing when loading/saving .STEP/.STP files, everything else is fine . If this is on Windows you must check where the other applications installed their DLLs because this sounds like FreeCAD now uses DLL of a different OCC version. And this cause...
