I'm not able to investigate the modulus problem.
When opening file joint3.fcstd, the FEM mesh (Mesh001001_Mesh) is, according to the Property view, a void object (0 nodes, 0 edges, ...0 volumes, 0 polyhedrons). Thus .inp file for Calculix is without mesh (that cannot give results).

Re: "No mesh object defined in the analysis"
For the first exploring FEM workbench it can be good to look at tutorials: http://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/index.php?title=FEM_CalculiX_Cantilever_3D http://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/index.php?title=FEM_tutorial First reason why it doesn't work is that FEM analysis needs FEM mesh, which is created in t...

Re: FEM error: SOLID SECTION can not be used
I think it would be best to construct the shape using Freecad. Do you perhaps have links to tutorials that would explain how to do this type of 3D solid modelling with Freecad? For the modelling you will need sketcher and part design. I have not checked tutorial quite long time. From the Tutorial p...

Re: FEM error: SOLID SECTION can not be used
In the Mesh module when I used “Meshes / Analyze / Evaluate and repair mesh” and click the last one Analyze “All above together” it gives a lot of folds which are not to be repaired correctly. Also from the look to the wireframe model slender triangles might cause later problems with meshing and FEM...

Re: Material properties for each cell
Thanks. It works.
Wouldn't it be fine to collect tricks like this on the wiki?

Re: FEM error: SOLID SECTION can not be used
I'm not much skilled in FreeCAD meshing. Maybe try to check the geometry before meshing in the Part workbench: “Part / Check geometry” for the number of solids. When meshed see in the property view (under the tree) for number of nodes, edges, ..., and volumes. If the imported file is not what you su...

Can I realize this with a macro? Defining or change in a material do not print python commands in the Python console neither to the file when recording macro. I understand that the second question was if there is some commands to drive material change. @Bernd: If I needed to drive it by python I wo...

Re: FEM error: SOLID SECTION can not be used
Hi Anton, That seems you run an analysis with 1d or 2d elements (as for a beam or a shell) but without defining beam or shell properties. You need to define width and high of the beam or thickness of the shell. From menu it is “FEM / Beam cross section” or “FEM / Shell plate thickness”. Without this...

Re: test request, multiple material
May be it is worthy to pay attention to the functionality rather then clicking details, so take ideas below informatively. Selecting in the workbench (or whole FreeCAD) might be consistent. I like the picking as is in the "fixed constraint". I can choose as many faces as I want without cli...
