Re: DO215 originated by Cesare Milani
it seems you've swapped the axis Y and Z hm, not sure what you mean. The front and bottom of the bottomkeel is the x=0;y=0;z=0 position (as is x=0;y=0 in the 2D side view). So any part can be placed with absolute dimensions regarding to that point in the 2D drawing. When drawing a fuselage frame yo...

Re: VIIC 1:45 modell
Just a short note on epoxying the nylon hull. You would want to support the nylons by a layer of paper or similar with a closed surface. Squeeze out the extra resin with a soft scraper (balsa or such). Otherwise you put too much resin on and it will not fill all the small gaps in the nylon. Other th...

Re: DO215 originated by Cesare Milani
Same working procedure as with the VIIC. I do the drawing in a 2D CAD program and import the parts into FC. In the 2D CAD make sure that all parts have a good x=0;y=0 coordinate so that in FC you can do the positioning with absolute coordinates. Note that DXF parts are imported into the XY plane. Ro...

DO215 originated by Cesare Milani
A quick 3D redo of Capt. Cesare Milanis DO215 plan from 1956. Some minor faults can be observed which are probably due to scanning the original plan. A finnboard skeleton has been build according to the original plan. Fun time with FC and a laser cadder ... Do215_1.png Do215_2.png Do215_3.png Do215_...

Re: VIIC 1:45 modell
The hull with two Layers of Nylon, results in approx. 0.8mm thickness. The hull itseld is so stiff you could use as a racket. Cutout for the ventilation inlets worked as planned. Pls note that only black and amber nylons will work for a sub, not the pink ones. IMG_20190406_135117.jpg IMG_20190406_13...

Re: VIIC 1:45 modell
What a day. One of those "good, bad and ugly" ones. Good: Body separator finished. Vertical and horizontal bars are giving a snug fit of the two sections. No need for screws and stuff. Worked as designed. 8-) Bad: Bow and Aft section 2°degrees out of line. Lesson learned here. When buildin...

Btw is this thread of any interest to you ? Just asking because it has not much more to do with FC but building. Let me know.
