Just out of curiosity - where did you get that shell from? Because the KCS_hull_SVA clearly has some problems...

Just for completeness I decided to actually do what I suggested :) Sketch in Sketcher WB based on two edges of the boss. Reversed Part/Extrude to create enveloping shape for the SliceApart. Move the boss to roughly desired place by using Transformation tool, fine tune position by adjusting placement...

The problem is that the cut needs two objects. And FC properly references the duplicated cube001 and unduplicated cylinder in the duplicated cut001. The issue mentioned is that Cube is shown on two places in the left pane - once under the cut and once as a separate object due to it been specificall...

Suddenly, there is a new extra Cube in the left panel. Which actually makes sense. On the Left there are all selected objects with their dependencies. The fact that one depends is not taken in to account and this causes the duplication. Which with a lot of selected objects might be better represent...

"Part/Split/Slice apart" with desired contour, move to desired place, fuse. How faster could it be?

I just don't feel this is the standard trigger. You could try it in your browser - tab to get to the Preview button, press space. As I mentioned the Enter and ESC accelerator keys are standard settings of the dialog itself, regardless of what else does it contain. "Clear" button is not. I...
